SRC (Salala Rubber Corporation)
The Salala Rubber Corporation (SRC) plantation was started in 1959 and the Weala Rubber Company (WRC) factory began operating in 1962. However, the civil wars of the 1990s and early 2000s sounded the death knell for the rubber sector. SRC’s premises were looted and the WRC factory was destroyed.
